  • Weight Loss with Breakfast!! • Omega-3 Fatty Acids fair better than Cholesterol Medication!! For awhile now, I've noticed studies that have shown limited data proving Statin therapy (your usual cholesterol medication) capable of preventing death or disability, even if it lowers cholesterol levels. On the other hand, Omega-3 Fish Oil supplementation such as the Nordic Natural brand I have in my office consistently has, even though it often does not lower cholesterol levels significantly. This article about two large studies following patients with Heart Failure showed similar results, in that those on statin medication did not prevent death, but Omega-3 Fish Oil did. The same has been true for those without Heart Failure, excluding patients who have had Heart Attack, Stroke, or Diabetes. Therefore, for those interested in prevention, rather than jumping on a Statin medication, we should first look to Fish Oil supplementation.
